Short Movie Script - Beyond the Horizon


 FADE IN:

EXT. A DESERT - DAY

We see a young woman, KATE, wandering through the desert. She is lost and alone, with only a small backpack and a water bottle.

CUT TO:

EXT. A DESERT OASIS - DAY

Kate finally stumbles upon an oasis. She runs to the water and drinks from it, grateful for the hydration. She then sits down under a tree and begins to rest.

CUT TO:

EXT. A CANYON - DAY

Kate continues on her journey, this time through a canyon. She climbs up the steep walls and carefully navigates her way through the rocky terrain.

CUT TO:

EXT. A MOUNTAIN - DAY

Kate reaches the top of a mountain and looks out at the vast landscape before her. She can see for miles in every direction.

KATE: (to herself) This is amazing. I can see beyond the horizon.

CUT TO:

EXT. A FOREST - DAY

Kate finds herself in a dense forest. She has to use her survival skills to find food and shelter.

CUT TO:

EXT. A BEACH - DAY

Kate finally makes it to the beach. She sees a ship in the distance and waves her arms, hoping to get its attention.

CUT TO:

EXT. A SHIP - DAY

The ship spots Kate and sends a rescue boat to bring her aboard. Kate is overwhelmed with emotion as she finally realizes she is safe.

CUT TO:

INT. A SHIP CABIN - DAY

Kate is sitting in a cabin on the ship. She is still processing everything that has happened.

KATE: (to herself) I never thought I would make it this far. I went beyond the horizon and back again.

CUT TO:

EXT. A CITY - DAY

The ship docks in a bustling city. Kate disembarks and looks around in wonder.

KATE: (to herself) I never want to stop exploring. There's always something new beyond the horizon.

FADE OUT.

Short Movie Script - Lost and Found

FADE IN:

EXT. A BEACH - DAY

The sun is shining and the waves are crashing. We see a young girl, LUCY, running along the beach with her dog, MAX. They are having a great time.

CUT TO:

INT. A RESTAURANT - NIGHT

Lucy and her parents are eating dinner. Lucy is playing with her phone while her parents discuss their work.

LUCY: (to herself) I wish we could be on the beach forever.

Suddenly, the restaurant starts to shake. Plates and glasses fall off the tables. People start screaming and running for the exits.

CUT TO:

EXT. A CITY STREET - NIGHT

Lucy and her parents are walking down the street, trying to find a way out of the chaos. Buildings are crumbling and cars are on fire.

LUCY: (to her parents) What's happening?

PARENTS: (frantic) We don't know, sweetie. Just stay close to us.

They turn a corner and run right into a group of looters. The looters grab Lucy's parents and drag them away.

LUCY: (crying) Mom! Dad!

Lucy runs away as fast as she can, not knowing where she is going.

CUT TO:

EXT. A DESERTED STREET - DAY

Lucy is alone and lost. She is hungry, thirsty, and scared.

LUCY: (to herself) This can't be happening. I need to find my parents.

Suddenly, she sees Max running towards her. He barks and jumps up on her, happy to see her.

LUCY: (smiling) Max! You found me!

CUT TO:

EXT. A BEACH - DAY

Lucy and Max are walking along the beach. Lucy is crying.

LUCY: (to Max) I don't know what to do. I'm lost and I can't find my parents.

Suddenly, she sees a piece of paper blowing in the wind. She runs over to it and picks it up. It's a map of the city.

LUCY: (excited) Max, look! This could help us find our way back.

CUT TO:

EXT. A CITY STREET - DAY

Lucy and Max are walking down a street. They follow the map and eventually find themselves in front of a building.

LUCY: (hopeful) This is it. This is where my parents are.

She goes inside and finds her parents tied up in a room.

LUCY: (running to her parents) Mom! Dad! I found you!

They hug and cry together.

PARENTS: (to Lucy) How did you find us?

LUCY: (smiling) Max and I got lost, but then we found each other. And then we found this map.

PARENTS: (amazed) You're so brave, Lucy.

They all walk out of the building together, with Max leading the way.

CUT TO:

EXT. A BEACH - DAY

Lucy, her parents, and Max are sitting on the beach, watching the sunset.

PARENTS: (to Lucy) We're so proud of you, honey.

LUCY: (smiling) Thanks, Mom and Dad. I couldn't have done it without Max.

MAX: (barking happily) Woof! Woof!

They all laugh and hug each other.

FADE OUT.
